This is a native Abeokuta Yoruba Chants for Praise Singing the NATIVES. This is just a tip of the iceberg. I got a whole lot more. “Mo sese n meye bo lapo o”
Song introducing the origins of the Yoruba Tribe as descendants of OODUA ATEWONRO. We have been migrating since many centuries back and still migrating up till now. We are 67Million strong all over the world. WE ARE THE YORUBAS.
“DON’T SELL YOUR VOTE”songs from aunty yinka’s closetYinka Sulaiman’s BAND OF THERAPY FOR CRISIS PREVENTION. It’s A Buffet. Therapeutic Too.. This song speak for itself. In Nigeria my home country, the mistakes of yester years of bad leadership has reached it’s head. Too much poverty in the land. Hospitals are in names alone. Electricity is so poor, generator fumes everywhere. Hunger killing at alarming rate. The roads are bad and terrible. Many innocent lives have bee list on the road. So whoever sell vote, don’t complain later the roads to your villages are terrible or that your children long graduated but no work for them or that of many children that can not afford to go to school. The people you vote for, many many years after they left office, their policies still exist. It will affect you, for good or for worse, it will affect your children, the future of your children, that of your grand children and your great grand children. So please don’t sell your vote for a bowl of porridge. That is basically what the song is saying.
“CRY OF THE GIRL CHILD” WRITTEN IN 1983/84. I WAS A YOUNG 6TH GRADE VILLAGE TEACHER IN THE REMOTE VILLAGE OF NIGERIA. ONE OF MY VERY BRILLIANT STUDENTS -BOLANLE- SUDDENLY STOPPED COMING TO SCHOOL AND UPON INQUIRY WE REALIZED SHE HAD BEEN MARRIED OFF TO ONE OLD MAN IN A NEARBY VILLAGE WHO COULD AFFORD HER DOWRY. I WAS PERPLEXED, DISTRAUGHT AND DEJECTED. THE GIRL WAS VERY GIFTED. BACK IN THE DAY NOTHING YOU COULD DO IN SUCH MATTERS ONE CAN EVEN GET VOODOOED OR CURSED. SO I WROTE THOSE WORDS JUST LIKE THAT AND NOW TRY TO TURN IT INTO SOME FORM OF RHYMES FOR EASY READ. THIS IS FOR YOU BOLANLE. WHEREVER YOU MAY BE.
